Drifters The Fleet South West Tour with Jason Singh

I’m delighted to be on a double bill with sound artist and musician, Jason Singh who performs his live score of the 1929 silent film by John Greigson, Drifters. It is a beautiful dreamlike film, and Jason’s commissioned BFI film score is powerfully haunting and uplifting.

We are on tour in the South West with Drifters, The Fleet at Devon Dorset and Cornwall venues – it will be an incredible show.

Seiners is my new spoken word and music performance with visuals by Common Ground.

Weaving ghostly fragments of the south west seine fishing heritage alongside atmospheric visuals by Common Ground, Sarah and local guest artists Emily Burridge – cello (Dorset), Julie Macara (Cornwall) and Becki Driscoll(Devon) premiere new poetic and musical work Seiners.

Real conversations, records, walks and memory talks form inspiration for this series of sketches.

We remember fishing communities, seine boats and everyday life along the coast to link the story of these communities to the wild coastal seasons and cycles of mackerel, salmon and pilchards once fished in Dorset, Devon and Cornwall; where voices and music drift into the memory sea.
